For anyone that’s moved house after a number of years, you know how daunting this can be. As Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer tell us, it’s about Location, Location, Location and once you’ve found your ideal property you then need to maximise the Amazing Space and come up with Grand Designs without input & guidance from George Clarke and Kevin McCloud!!
Yet we’ve done it!!
We were bursting at the seams at our previous London printing studio in Great Portland Street [GPS] W1 as, in response to customer demand, we’d continued to invest to ensure we kept pace with the advancements in Xerox digital printing technology as far as the space would allow us. The advancements since we took our very first Xerox Iridesse in 2018, the first in Europe, have been out of this world. With its speciality colour printing of gold, silver, white, clear and fluorescent pink, we loved it and so did our customers. So much so we soon found ourselves with Xerox number 2. Again we loved it, and so did our customers, new and old. We were able to translate creative designs and requests like never before and in 2022, knowing we needed add to our Xerox Iridesse fleet yet again, it was clear. We had outgrown our Great Portland Street home.
What is the collective noun for three Xerox Iridesses? Not sure there is one as we’re not sure it’s been done before?!
We had to house our three Xerox Iridesse Express machines so the hunt for new premises began in October. Our 40 year heritage as a leading London printing company has it’s foundations in W1, along with many of our loyal customers, so leaving London was unthinkable. We considered N1, E1, W1 and SE1, but as soon as we saw 165 Tower Bridge Road [TBR] we knew we’d found our new home. It was pure gold! The layout over three floors, not only doubled our space, but fitted our departments and workflow perfectly. And better still, the space meant we could double our print capacity.
Whilst the layout worked for us, we still had changes to make! November saw pillars coming down, built-in benches pulled out, doors being moved, a complete electrics overhaul to cope with the power demands of our Xerox machines, implementation of a new natural lighting system, a new network and upcycled custom desks!
Our move date was the first weekend in December, so we had to ensure our customers weren’t impacted by the move in any way and that orders were still delivered on time. We moved over 6 tonnes of print equipment and stock that weekend. We didn’t miss a single delivery date. IPW1 had moved.
It’s fair to say we are tickled pink and proud as punch with our new London print studio and we’re the only London digital colour printing company with three shiny new Xerox Iridesse Express machines! Our first-class colour digital printing journey continues at pace as does our ability to deliver high volume printing at scale. As a commercial printing company, we need the capacity to print accurately, consistently and at speed. Our investment in Xerox means we can do just that! The zonal elements in our print studio means we can seamlessly move from digital printing to finishing to packing to collection, moving at speed to ensure your print reaches you on time, every time.
The final part of our latest journey ends with the IPW1 brand, where we’ve taken the opportunity to spruce ourselves up too! We wanted to make sure our commitment and investment to innovation and digital printing technology was reflected in our brand, so we are still IPW1 Proper Printing, but now with a splash of colour! We’ve never been bashful but we’re standing out like never before, from the window vinyls on our creative space to our colourful walls, to our calendars and business cards. You can’t miss us, IPW1 has made a colourful start to 2023!
Shakespeare said that all that glisters is not gold but we say if it’s not digital gold print, it’ll be silver print, white print, clear print or pink print! Or any combination of digital speciality printing! Digitally printing a metallic Gold? Seeing is believing!
What are you waiting for? We’re ready? Are you?
