There are many definitions of hospitality and the sector, with Kate Nicholls, UK Hospitality CEO, describing hospitality as including ‘small independents to large multi-national sites operating across the accommodation, food & beverage, events, and attraction and leisure sectors and the supply chain’. But hospitality is more than just the business of providing food, drink, and accommodation for customers & guests, or indeed providing products or services to the sector. It’s a relationship that transcends a transaction and one born of deep understanding, personifying unparalleled attention to quality and service.
It’s fair to say we are known for our hospitality printing and design services, as a brand, through our customer service and through our long-standing relationships within the hospitality sector. We’ve been collaborating with restaurants, cafes, bars, coffee shops, hotels and professional bodies for over 20 years and have provided a comprehensive range of print products and printing services, from printed menus and tableware, to window displays, visual merchandising and sponsorship materials.
In IPW1’s early days in the nineties we looked after customers from our
Heddon Street studio that included London College of Fashion, The Royal
Academy, Living Room, Circus, Strada, and Sarastro. The imaginative and
remarkable Sarastro with its interior ablaze with swirling colour, visual
excitement and the need for stunning menus was a perfect match for IPW1. We
were hooked, our love affair with the hospitality industry had begun!
Papageno and Belowzero Ice Bar were quickly added to the IPW1 hospitality portfolio and by the end of the 2000s not only had we moved location but amongst other well-known restaurants Bill’s and Côte had joined the IPW1 hospitality family.
Over the years we have worked closely with creative agencies and marketing teams, often from inception to the finished product. This way we both truly understand the look and feel of our customers’ brand and the ever evolving strategies to keep their brand fresh and engaging. Our customers really know how to stand out from the crowd:
In response to the first lockdown in 2020, the Caring Family Foundation (founded by Caprice Holdings Ltdowner Richard Caring and includes brands such as The Ivy & Harry’s Bar) chose to extend support and solutions to those in crisis, launching two campaigns that delivered 1.14 million meals nationally to NHS workers and children living in food poverty in the UK. We wanted to play our part so we supported these initiatives by providing printed labels and delivering meals to our Charity of the Year, Alzheimer’s Society, with the support of Ambassador Richard Madeley.
As the hospitality adapted to the pandemic, so did we. We were inundated with bespoke printing requests during the first lockdown, including Pizza Pilgrims for Pizza in the Post who remain one of our customers to this day. We now provide packaging for cook at home meals, home delivery bags, social distancing signage and labels for hand sanitisers.
We had supported the hospitality sector even before the pandemic but we wanted to do more, to give back. So as we began to see sustained shoots of recovery we continued to support our friends and colleagues across the industry and looked to extend our support to more organisations.

The Institute of Hospitality (IoH) , established in 1938, is the world’s leading, award-winning, professional membership body for hospitality professionals around the globe. As a registered charity, they are committed to delivering continuing professional development and lifelong learning across the diverse hospitality family.
We supported the IoH Annual Dinner & Awards, held to recognise the best talent from across the hospitality industry, again by providing printed event programmes, name cards, table numbers, bags and chocolate boxes.
Casual Dining Show , the definitive restaurant, pub and bar event held at the London ExCel, features innovative printing suppliers and leading buyers with opportunities to connect and network with decision-makers from across the casual dining sector. We knew many of our customers, pioneers of the industry, would be there so in 2022 we not only exhibited but we sponsored the lanyards too.
And following a fantastic couple of days , Food and Drink Matters , an advertorial-led publication that prints 5,000 copies on a monthly & national basis to around 15,000 readers, ran a review of the Casual Dining 2022. Their journalists chose IPW1 as one of their Top 20 Exhibitors!
We’re known for being a leading London printer, and there’s not a lot we don’t print. Printed menus, tableware, window displays, visual merchandising and much, much more. We make sure that what comes out of our machines looks how our customers want it to look and feels how they want it to feel.
Above all, we support. In this case, wobbly tables! It’s a big job, but someone had to do it, so we’ve taken our supportive role to the next level by waging a war on the wobble! From The Never Happy, The No Smoke Without Fire, The Collywobble, The Egg and Cress Sandwich, The Boss, The Big Daddy to finally Code Red! Which one are you?!
We love hearing that our customers’ print goals have hit the mark and couldn’t be more proud that we were able to strike the right tone for the IoH:
‘It has been a pleasure to work with IPW1 over the last year. We are very happy to be working with them and we are proud to see our branding and collateral displayed in such a professional way. We are very grateful for their support of the IoH and the industry as a whole’
Robert Richardson FIH, CEO Institute of Hospitality
Our customers are constantly innovating and so are we, priding ourselves on stellar service. As Cesar Ritz once said, ‘Never say no when a client asks for something, even if it is the moon’.
What are you waiting for? We’re ready. Are you?
